The session

What a recording session here actually looks like

  1. 1

You book the hours you need

Pick a date and a start time on the calendar and choose how many hours you want. One hour is the minimum. The calendar shows real availability — if a slot is open, the room is genuinely free.

  2. 2

We set the room up before you get here

Mic, stand, pop filter, headphones and interface are patched and level-checked ahead of your slot. You are not paying studio time to watch somebody plug in cables.

  3. 3

    You record, we engineer

An engineer runs the session — mic choice, gain, headphone mix, punch-ins and comping as you go. Send a beat, a reference track or lyrics ahead of time and it will already be loaded when you walk in.

  4. 4

    You leave with your files

Your takes are yours. Take the session files with you, or leave them here and add mixing and mastering on top.

Nothing about that list is unusual for a professional studio — it is only worth spelling out because plenty of rooms rented by the hour in this city are a mic in a spare bedroom and a person who will happily let your hour disappear into setup. Here the room is ready when your slot starts.

30+ hours

That is up to 23% off the standard rate at 30 hours ($50 an hour). Bulk hours are prepaid and used whenever you like — a single booking cannot run long enough to reach the top tiers on its own.

A 25% deposit holds the room (minimum $30) and the balance is due at the session. Deposits go through Stripe or PayPal; e-transfer is fine too.

Recording is the hourly service — pick Recording Session when you book. If you want the finished song mixed and mastered afterwards, that is quoted separately on the mixing and mastering page.

The room

What you are recording on

Microphones

UAD Sphere DLX, Rode NTK tube condenser, Rode NT-1A, Shure SM7B and Shure SM58. The engineer picks the one that suits your voice — you can also ask for a specific mic ahead of the session.

Front end

SSL 2+ or Audient EVO 16 into Pro Tools, FL Studio or Ableton Live. Monitoring on KRK Rokit 7 and Kali LP-8, closed-back headphones for tracking.

Live instruments

A Roland A-88 MKII weighted 88-key controller, a Fender Stratocaster and a Fender Jazz Bass live here. Live drums, guitar and bass overdubs are available through our session players.

Genres

Hip-hop, R&B, pop, rock, electronic, Latin, Afrobeats, country, jazz and classical crossover have all been tracked in this room. Mic choice and processing change with the genre.

Hours

Open 12 PM to 2 AM every day except Wednesday, so a late session is normal here rather than a favour. Online booking opens from 3 PM — call or text for an earlier start.

First time in a studio

That is most of who books here. Bring water, warm your voice up before you arrive, and let the engineer handle the rest. Nobody is going to make you feel behind.

The SM7B is the workhorse for loud rap vocals — it takes a big voice in a live room without turning harsh.

The full equipment list and a studio tour video are on the about page. You can also hear the same vocal take recorded on a phone and then on our mic, raw and finished, in the before-and-after players on the homepage.

Questions

Before you book

How much is a recording studio in Toronto per hour?

Here it is $50–$65/hr depending on how many hours you buy, with an engineer included in that rate. Your first session is 25% off, and paying in full 24 hours ahead saves another 10%.

Do I need to bring my own beat?

No, but bring one if you have one. If you do not, we can produce the track for you as a separate project — that is the music production side of the studio.

How many people can come with me?

Bring who you need for the session. Let us know in the booking notes if it is a group so the room is set up for it.

Is the engineer extra?

No. Engineering is part of the hourly rate — there is no separate operator fee and no dry-hire tier where you are left alone with the gear.

Can you tweak the mix after the session?

Yes — every hour you book includes up to 10 minutes of additional mixing or editing afterwards, and exporting stems counts against that time too. It happens after the session rather than during it, and lands within 3-5 business days of being requested. Asking on the day does not guarantee same-day: if the room is already booked, it waits its turn.

How far ahead do I need to book?

The calendar shows what is genuinely open, including same-week slots. A 25% deposit holds the time; the balance is due at the session.
